This document covers our treatment of the personal data collected by Direct Client Services SRL (called Cărturești), as Operator of the personal data that you (as the individual to whom the information relates) provide us, for the e-commerce activity through our website brandminds.carturesti.ro and other technologies and tools associated with Cărturești's online presence.

1. Information we collect about you

Data collection and processing activities are governed by the General Data Protection Regulation.

Direct Client Services SRL acts as the Controller of the personal data that you (as the data subject) provide us.

Brandminds by Carturesti collects the following information:
Name and surname, mailing address, telephone number, email address, IP address, your behavior on our website brandminds.carturesti.ro and your interests.

2. Why we need your information

We need this data in order to provide you with the following services:

  • Name, surname, mailing address and telephone number to invoice and deliver the products and services you ordered. Delivery can be made by our own means or by several courier companies approved by us.
  • Email address and phone number to keep you up to date with the state of your order, both from brandminds.carturesti.ro and through the courier companies approved by us. Also, we need your e-mail addresses (if you are subscribed to our newsletter and have confirmed your email subscription), in order to send you general and personalized offers of brandminds.carturesti.ro or Cărturești bookstores.
  • Your telephone number for phone calls received or initiated through our call-center, these calls may be recorded in order to in improve our services. If this is the case, you will be informed at the beginning of the phone call.

3. How we use your information

Your data is collected by DIRECT CLIENT SERVICES SRL based in Bucharest, Pictor Arthur Verona Steet, No. 15, Building A1, District 1, represented by Mrs. Lucica Nicoleta Iordan.

The data is stored in Romania, at one of our offices, work locations or by our approved suppliers, based on service contracts.

As the case may be, your personal data may be shared with certain approved suppliers (express courier, postal services, services used by brandminds.carturesti.ro in order to perform delivery operations, payment, order processing, commercial and marketing purposes, etc.). We may transmit personal information to public authorities or institutions in accordance with legal provisions or in good faith if:

  • (a) it is provided for in a legal provision
  • (b) it protects the rights of the carturesti.ro company or of the affiliated companies
  • (c) it prevents a crime or protects national security
  • (d) it protects the safety of the individual or public safety
  • (e) this information is necessary in order to solve different situations
  • (f) your activities contravene the terms and conditions established by brandminds.carturesti.ro, or the instructions for the use of certain products and services
  • (g) in case brandminds.carturesti.ro, merges or is totally or partially acquired by another company, and the database is transferred to the new operator:
  • (h) brandminds.carturesti.ro, becomes insolvent, voluntarily or involuntarily, through the liquidator, administrator or buyer, the database can be sold, authorized or traded only with the consent of the court. In case the situations mentioned above appear, you will be notified by e-mail or by an announcement posted on the brandminds.carturesti.ro websites.

4. How long will we keep your information

All personal data held by us will be kept during and up to one year since the provision of services on our website brandminds.carturesti.ro or on other sites or platforms owned by Direct Client Services SRL.

The service provision can be dissolved:

  • by Cărturești’s initiative
  • upon notification of the participant’s decision to cease the program’s membership

Upon expiration of the terms described above, all personal data will be irreversibly destroyed (except for those necessary for various tax or other legal obligations), and non-personal information that can no longer be used to identify the participant will be used only as statistical data, usable for strategy purposes.

If you have given your consent to receive our newsletter, your email address will be kept until you choose to unsubscribe. Unsubscribing can be done by accessing the link provided in each newsletter.

5. What are your rights?

If at any time the participant considers that any personal informations that Cărturești holds are incorrect or incomplete, he/she has the right to ask to see this information, to correct it or to ask for it to be deleted. If this is the case, please notify by sending us an e-mail to ecomenzi@carturesti.info.

If you wish to make a complaint about the way in which your personal data have been managed, please contact us by e-mail at protectiadatelor@carturesti.net. A responsible person will investigate the complaint and contact you to resolve the reported issue.

If you still consider that your personal data has not been managed correctly, according to the regulations, you can contact the National Authority for the Supervision of Personal Data Processing and file a complaint.
